We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations in Wakefield .

  • New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

  • Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

  • What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

    The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

    I was actually trying to get a "love heart" shot of a pair of swans i.e. where the necks and heads of both birds form the shape of a love heart when viewed from a certain angle. I had almost achieved this when another pair landed on the water behind me. the male the pair I was observing Immediately launched him self at the male who had just landed I managed to get a couple of shots off as he went past me, this was the best of what I took. the resident pair did build a nest but sadly produced no

    The stillness of the water is quite rare for this spot so I was lucky to get the reflection in this shot coupled with the rest space of the misy in the background. I used a 6 stop filter to add to the smoothness and merged 3 exposures to ensure I caught all the different textures.

Because of this the image had to be denoised . It was then cropped and clarity and texture added in Lightroom. I have a nice triptych of them sitting in three different poses.
